Nestlé is the world's largest food and drink company, based in Switzerland, with brands such as Nescafé, Nespresso, KitKat, Maggi, Gerber and Purina pet food. It sells its products in almost every country. Through Nestlé Health Science it makes vitamins, supplements, infant formula and medical nutrition for people with special dietary needs, including products based on selected probiotic bacteria. Its research centres study the nutrition, health and safety of food, and breed coffee and cocoa plant varieties that can better resist disease and climate stress. It runs one of the largest private food research networks in the world.
