Microsoft makes the Windows operating system, Office and Teams software, the Xbox games console, and Azure, one of the world's largest cloud computing platforms. It also owns LinkedIn and GitHub, and is a major investor in OpenAI. Azure hosts and processes large amounts of genetic sequence data for research labs, hospitals and drug companies. Microsoft Research builds AI models for science and biology, including tools that design new proteins from sequence data. Most of Microsoft's revenue comes from cloud services and business software sold to companies and governments around the world.
