Alibaba is a Chinese technology group that runs Taobao and Tmall, China's largest online shopping platforms, along with the Cainiao logistics network and AliExpress for international shoppers. Its Alibaba Cloud division is the biggest cloud computing provider in Asia and develops the Qwen family of AI models. Alibaba Cloud sells a genomics computing platform that analyses DNA data from raw sequences to final reports, including tools that identify genetic variants. Research institutes, hospitals and biotech firms use it to process large sequencing projects. Alibaba also has businesses in food delivery, media and entertainment.
